PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in the case of using the content of a dictionary database as reading. SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary 1 includes: a display part 40 and an input part 30; a dictionary DB 820 for storing key words and explanation information in association; a relevant information DB 83 for storing words and relevant information related with the words in association; a CPU 20 for making a display part 40 display the arbitrary key words stored in the dictionary DB 820 and the explanation information corresponding to the key words according to a user operation; and a history table 84 for storing the key words whose explanation information has been displayed as history key words. The CPU 20 extracts the relevant information associated with the key words matched with the history key words in the relevant information DB 83 according to the user operation, and extracts the words associated with the extracted relevant information in the relevant information DB 83 as relevant words, and reads the explanation information of the key words corresponding to the relevant words from the dictionary DB 820, and makes the display part 40 display it.
