PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high charge mobility, a large current on/off ratio, and excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer. The organic semiconductor layer contains a compound expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>12</SB>each independently express H, halogen, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, wherein two adjacent substituent groups selected from a combination of X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>6</SB>and/or X<SB>7</SB>-X<SB>12</SB>may be bonded to each other to form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring along with a substituted carbon atom. Further, Y<SB>1</SB>and Y<SB>2</SB>each independently express O, S, or N-R (R: H, an alkyl group, an alkoxy alkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group), and a ring A expresses a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring or a substituted or unsubstituted naphthalene ring.
