PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element having sufficient light extraction efficiency and with high durability against cracks or the like by heat. SOLUTION: The organic EL element 10 having at least one light-emitting layer 3 includes a light scattering adhesive layer 5 containing a light scattering material. When intensity of parallel transmitted light incident into a normal direction of the light scattering adhesive layer is to be I0°, and intensity of parallel transmitted light incident from a direction slanted by 30°is to be I30°, a ratio of I30°to I0°is in a range from 10% or more and less than 95%.
