PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has an uppermost surface layer which restrains unevenness in film thickness, and in which deterioration due to the long-term repeated usage is restrained in the electrical characteristics and image characteristics and stably provides images. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor, the uppermost layer of a photosensitive layer includes a cross-linked substance formed by using a coating liquid which contains a compound selected from guanamine compounds, or the like, a specific electric charge transporting material, and an alcoholic solvent. In this case, the concentration in the coating liquid of solid component of the compound selected from the guanamine compounds, or the like is at least 0.1 mass% and at most 5 mass%. Furthermore, the concentration in the coating liquid of solid component of the specific electric charge transport material is at least 90 mass%, and the maximum surface tension which the alcoholic solvent shows is at least 20.0×10<SP>-5</SP>N/cm and at most 26.0×10<SP>-5</SP>N/cm. In addition, when the coating liquid contains two or more kinds of alcoholic solvents; the difference between the maximum surface tension of an alcoholic solvent which shows the largest maximum surface tension among the two or more kinds of alcoholic solvents and the maximum surface tension which the other alcoholic solvents indicate is at most 6.0×10<SP>-5</SP>N/cm.
