PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device precisely scanning a surface to be scanned without increase in cost and size. SOLUTION: The optical scanning device is provided with: five light sources; a polygon mirror 2104 having a plurality of deflecting and reflecting surfaces for deflecting five pieces of light flux emitted by the five light sources respectively; and a scanning optical system configured to converge the five pieces of light flux deflected by the polygon mirror 2104 on surfaces of corresponding photoreceptor drums, while being made to dealing with the five photoreceptor drums. Then when the five pieces of light flux emitted from the five light sources are incident on the polygon mirror 2014, two pieces and three (LBc, LBd, and LBe) pieces of the five pieces of light flux are incident on mutually different diffusing and reflecting surfaces. At this time, the one piece LBe among the three pieces (LBc, LBd, and LBe) of light flux is incident horizontally on a deflecting and reflecting surface, and the other four pieces of light flux are all incident obliquely on the deflecting and reflecting surfaces.
