PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic detection system for enabling observers to easily determine in a short time whether local variations in magnetic fields have occurred in the vicinity of a magnetic sensor (target magnetic sensor) being objectively observed by the observers. SOLUTION: When a measurement value of a geomagnetically corrected magnetic sensor 1-1 is equal to a prescribed value or greater at time t1 (ST1-ST4), a correlation coefficient r is determined on the basis of n-pieces of detection data of the magnetic sensor 1-1 and a compensation sensor 1-c until time t1+Δt since then (ST5, ST6). It is determined whether the correlation coefficient r exceeds a prescribed value or not (ST7). When the correlation coefficient r exceeds the prescribed value, it is determined that a magnetic variation has occurred in the vicinity of the magnetic sensor 1-1 (ST8). When the correlation coefficient r does not exceed the prescribed value, it is determined that a magnetic variation has occurred in the vicinity of the compensation sensor 1-c (ST9).
