PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of raw material plugging near a raw material discharging opening of a raw material charging shoot, when charging raw material into a container in a carbon press, and to charge the raw material dropping toward the center in the radial direction in the container. SOLUTION: The raw material charging device for carbon press includes: the raw material charging chute 10, guiding the raw material from a raw material conveying device and discharging it approximately in the horizontal direction from the raw material discharging opening; and an adjusting plate 20 arranged opposing to the raw material discharging opening 12a of the raw material charging chute 10, and provided movably toward and away from the raw material discharging opening 12a. An opposing surface 20a of the adjusting plate 20 on the side opposing to the raw material discharging opening 12a makes an angle of 45°or less with the axial line of the container 1 in the side view. The adjusting plate 20 drops the raw material discharged from the raw material discharging opening 12a into the container 1 making it to collide with the opposing surface 20a.
