PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckle with a lock mechanism which excels in safety since it becomes in a locked state which securely forbids the release of the buckle without special operations when the buckle is fastened, furthermore, the operability is excellent both in fastening the buckle and releasing the buckle. SOLUTION: The buckle includes an operating member 70 which moves between a locking position and an unlocking position and a release member 80 which removes an engaging pawl 56 from the reverse engagement with an engaging part 30 on condition that the operating member 70 is in the unlocking position attached to the operating member 70.
