PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selection of a neutral state in which any roller pairs are not brought into contact with each other in a friction transmission device using a plurality of friction transmission roller pairs. SOLUTION: A transmission mechanism comprises a first and second rollers each supported rotatably. Power is transmitted by selectively bringing a pair of roller pairs into press-contact among a plurality of roller pairs each having a different set reduction ratio, and meanwhile, a neutral state can be selected in which any roller pair is not brought into press-contact. Any roller pair is not brought into contact with each other by a support mechanism which supports the first roller directly or through a first roller rotation support part in the neutral state.
