PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a getting-up/down step device for a construction machine hardly damaged not only by stones and rocks flying from the front of steps but by stones and rocks flying from the side of the steps in the step device mounted to a side frame. SOLUTION: The step has a central plate part 21 and side plate parts 22 on both right and left sides. The central plate part 21 is inclined to gradually approach the side frame side toward the lower end from an upper end foothold section 21a spaced from the side frame. The side plate parts 22 are provided in a range from both right and left sides of the central plate part to the side frame. The side plate parts 22 are inclined so that a space between the upper ends of both side plate parts 22 is gradually widened toward the side frame and that the outer surfaces of the side plate parts 22 are obliquely downward.
