TARGET FOR X-RAY GENERATING DEVICES AND METHOD FOR MACHINING SAME

Disclosed is a target preferable to X-ray generating devices for forming stripe X-rays (multi-line X-rays) having a small width of about several micrometers and a method for machining the same. The target is disposed in a tube body the inside of which can be evacuated to a vacuum state, opposed to an electron source for generating an electron beam, and adapted for generating a multi-line X-rays when irradiated with the electron beam emitted from the electron source. The target is configured as follows. The multi-line target having a small width has lines formed repetitively among grooves having a small width. The target is disposed so as to be irradiated with the electron beam from the electron source from the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the grooves extend at a predetermined angle (a) obliquely. The electron beam from the electron source is applied to a range of some of the grooves. The multi-line X-rays from the multi-line target having lines formed among the grooves are outputted at a predetermined output angle (ß).
