The system (10) has a temporary storage device (12) for temporary storage of excess heat energy i.e. steam, accumulated in a production plant e.g. paper manufacturing plant. The storage device has a latent-heat-storage unit with a phase change material (PCM), and a thermo-chemical storage. Energy consumers (14, 14 ') i.e. thermo electric generators, are assigned to the storage device, and a thermo-chemical storage comprises a sorption storage. The energy consumer is connected with the storage device by a heat exchanger (16).
