The device (7) has a cam shaft (4) rotatively drivable around an axis of rotation (6), and a pump cam (8) torque-proofly connected with the cam shaft. A roller tappet (9) transfers bi-directional drive movement to a driving member (11) of a high-pressure pump (3). Another roller tappet (12) comprises a roll (13) cooperating with the pump cam. A roll (15) of the former roller tappet cooperates with a control contour (14), where stroke direction (19) of the former roller tappet is inclined to stroke direction (18) of the latter roller tappet. An independent claim is also included for an internal-combustion engine.
