The present invention describes a mucin of high molecular weight obtained from Sacharomyces Spp. having the action of increasing the compaction, California bearing ratio and strength of surfaces of soil and other materials for construction; a mixture to increase the compaction, California bearing ratio and strength of surfaces of soil and other materials for construction, wherein said mixture comprises a quantity of said mucin of high molecular weight and a quantity of a solution denominated "liquid-crystal"; and a method for increasing the compaction, California bearing ratio and strength of surfaces of soil and other materials for construction.
