The invention relates to a control device for a solenoid (1) electrically powered by a voltage source (2), the device being preferably intended for integration into an electric starter for a combustion engine. The control device includes a main switching means (3) controlled by a calculation means (4) so as to hash the power supply of the solenoid (1), and an auxiliary switching means (5) arranged in parallel with the solenoid (1) and permitting a current flow in the solenoid (1) when the power supply is cut off by the main switching means (3). Furthermore, the device includes an additional switching means (6) arranged in series with said auxiliary switching means (5) as well as a voltage clipping means (7) arranged in parallel with the solenoid (1) and with the additional switching means (6), wherein said additional switching means (6) enables a selection between at least two current flow paths when the power supply is cut off by the main switching means (3). The invention also relates to an electric starter for a combustion engine integrating such a device, and to a control method for actuating such a device for a starter. |
