PURPOSE: A laser wavelength tuning apparatus and a method thereof is provided to obtain effective laser resonance without changing an optical path by varying the position of an output coupler according to the operation of a diffraction unit. CONSTITUTION: A collimating lens(121) guides a laser beam to be parallel with the collimating lens. A transmissive diffraction part diffracts the laser beam to a predetermined output route. An output coupler(140) resonates the laser light source by reflecting a part of the diffracted light through the transmissive diffraction part. Detection units(191,192) supply at least one measurement value of the position and focus of passed light. The lens position controlling unit varies the position of the collimating lens in order to reach the measurement value of the detection unit.
