METHOD FOR EXPANSION OF MESENCHYMAL STEM CELL USING RETINOIC ACID AND FGF-2

PURPOSE: A method for expanding mesenchymal stem cells(MSC) using retinoic acid(RA) and FGF-2 is provided to effectively expand by RA and FGF-2 and to maintain pluripotency. CONSTITUTION: A mesenchymal stem cell is expanded by culturing the mesenchymal stem cell in a mediuim containing retinoic acid(RA) and FGF-2(fibroblast growth factor-2). The mesenchymal stem cell is isolated from human bone marrow. The retinoic acid is ATRA(all-trans retinoic acid). The RA is contained in 0.01-10uM. A composition for expanding mesenchymal stem cell contains RA and FGF-2.
