Piled foundation for offshore wind turbines

The foundation has a caisson (4) which is supported by several columns (3) embedded in the seabed (2) and subjected to tension and pressure loadings, selected columns arranged at an angle to the vertical. The caisson is supported below the water surface (1) above the level of the seabed and can contain a turbine or screw for converting the water movement into rotation of an electrical energy generator.
