PURPOSE: A tilting device for an electromagnet for holding a material in a press is provided to accurately pick up a material by tilting an electromagnet according to the shape of the material or the inclination of the pickup surface. CONSTITUTION: A tilting device(1) for an electromagnet for holding a material in a press comprises a spherical tilting ball(22) and an electromagnet(24). The tilting ball is elastically supported with a spring under a supporting rod(10) of the electromagnet. The electromagnet holds a material by tilting according to the pickup surface of the material.
