<p>Two-phase driving operation is performed at least in one subfield by a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit applies a first ramp waveform, which descends from a first potential to a second potential, to a plurality of first scanning electrodes in an initializing period, and sequentially applies scanning pulses to the first scanning electrodes in a write period. The second circuit applies a second ramp waveform, which descends from the first potential to a third potential higher than the second potential, to a plurality of second scanning electrodes in an initializing period, sustains the second scanning electrode at a fourth potential higher than the third potential in a period when the scanning pulses are applied to the first scanning electrodes in the write period, and then sequentially applies scanning pulses to the second electrodes. A write discharge failure is eliminated by applying the two-phase driving operation.</p> |
