<p>PURPOSE: A steer motor current limit method is provided to overcome low accuracy, to enhance the steering performance and to reduce the parts by applying an algorithm controlling a motor current limit value through the direct calculation of the lost heat energy. CONSTITUTION: A steer motor current limit method is as follows. A detected motor current value is compared with a threshold current value. The motor current value is transformed into a loss energy if the motor current value is larger than the threshold current value. The motor current limit is determined by the comparing of the loss energy with a threshold loss value. A variable current limit algorithm is realized if the loss energy is smaller than the threshold loss value and it is determined whether a maximum current limit value algorithm will be performed if the loss energy is larger than the threshold loss value. After comparing the loss energy with a maximum-allowable loss value, it is determined whether the step of comparing the threshold loss value will be performed or the maximum current limit value algorithm will be performed. The step of comparing with the threshold loss value is performed if the loss energy is smaller than the maximum-allowable loss value, and the maximum current limit value algorithm is performed if being larger than the maximum-allowable loss value.</p> |
