PURPOSE: A telephone with a function for preventing transmission of on hook noise is provided to convert an on-hook state automatically after one or two seconds when a handset is at an on-hook position of the telephone, thereby naturally terminating a call with a counterpart person. CONSTITUTION: A proximity sensing unit(11) generates a sensing signal by sensing a proximity distance from a telephone and a handset. A control unit(12) generates a volume control signal by controlling a level of a signal inputted from a microphone(13) according to intensity of the sensing signal applied from the proximity sensing unit. A volume control unit(15) controls the signal inputted from the microphone according to the inputted volume control signal. |
