The heat exchanger of the present invention includes a metal circuit (3) for gas circulation with heat exchange with a coolant and provided inside a plastic frame (2), a metal carrier plate (8) coupled to at least one end of said circuit (3), a metal ledge (10) connected to said metal carrier plate (8) and coupled in direct contact with the plastic frame (2). The heat exchanger is characterised in that it comprises a means for the thermal insulation of said at least one end of the circuit (3), to which the metal carrier plate (8) is attached. It is possible to reduce the temperature level at at least one end of the circuit while thereby guaranteeing the exchanger durability and broadening the selection of plastic materials that can be used for the frame.
