<p>A visor assembly (100) for an aviation helmet (10) includes a lens (110), lens/strap anti-tear interface assemblies (120), retainer plates, and attachment strap assemblies (130). A friction strip (140) mounted on the brim of the helmet (10) operates to increase the friction between the visor lens (110) and the helmet (10). The combined function of the friction strip (140) and the configuration of the strap assemblies (130) operate to maintain the visor (100) in a deployed (as-worn) positioned in front of the wearer's face, even during high speed wind blasts of up to 600 KEAS (Knots Equivalent Air Speed).</p> |
