PURPOSE: A system including an apparatus for managing an instant message and a method thereof are provided to enable an instant messaging service user to use message data transmitted and received through an instant messaging service more conveniently. CONSTITUTION: A message storage unit(101) stores message data transmitted and received through an instant messaging service, and a message extracting unit(103) extracts the user information and conversation contents of the instant messaging service from the message data stored at the message storage unit. A PIMS(Personal Information Management System) server(105) registers and manages a schedule based on the user information and the conversation contents. The PIMS server registers and manages the schedule to transmit the conversation contents to a user of the instant messaging service in the preset transmission time.
