PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device is provided to minimize operation errors like over programming by changing the width of a periphery transistor. CONSTITUTION: A cell block comprises a memory cell array. A transistor is included in a peripheral area. The transistor is electrically connected to the memory cell. The transistor applies an electric signal to the memory cell. The width of the transistor is dissimilar according to the location which the memory cell occupies in the cell block.
