PURPOSE: An SSD(Solid State Drive) controller and a method for operating of the SSD controller are provided to manage only the access to a representative pointer by selecting the representative pointer among plural pointers included in an SSD. CONSTITUTION: If a data reading command is transmitted from a host, a command unit(121) transmits the data reading command to at least one memory. A pointer selection unit(122) checks over the point of time when data are completely recorded on a buffer. The pointer selection unit selects a representative pointer among first pointers, and a transmission unit(123) reads out data from the buffer based on second pointers by considering the representative pointer. The transmission unit transmits the read data to the host.
