PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition for improving skin condition and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to ensure anti-aging, whitening, anti-wrinkle, anti-inflammation, and moisturizing. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for moisturizing contains 0.01-40 weight% of Sechium edule extract as an active ingredient. A method for manufacturing the cosmetic composition for moisturizing comprises: a step of adding 2-20 time weight of water to Sechium edule fruits and leaves and heating at 100°C for 1-24 hours to extract Sechium edule extract; a step of adding 0.01-40 weight% of Sechium edule extract based on the total weight of the composition. The composition is used in the form of lotion, cream, essence, pack, makeup base, foundation, body oil, body lotion, cleansing oil, cleansing foam, hair oil, hair shampoo, or hair rinse.
