PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided to play an audio file in a sleep mode, thereby saving power consumption of a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A controller(180) decodes an audio file saved in a memory to generate digital audio data. An audio output unit receives and stores the digital audio data from the controller. The audio output unit automatically loads the stored digital audio data, converts it into analog audio data, and outputs it through a speaker. A buffer memory receives and stores the digital audio data. |
