FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of alkylsulfochlorides of general formula CnH2n+1-mXmSO2Cl, where X denotes F or CI, n is an integer greater than 4, m is not greater than 2n+1, through oxidation of sulphur-containing organic compounds in an aqueous medium. The method is characterised by that sulphur-containing organic compounds are oxidised by adding a sodium hypochlorite solution to the reaction mass which contains an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid and a sulphur-containing compound. Alkylsulfochlorides of the given formula can be used as catalysts in various chemical processes, as intermediate products in synthesis of biologically active substances, particularly herbicides, and for synthesis of surfactants. ^ EFFECT: method for synthesis of alkylsulfochlorides is disclosed, as a result of which the technological process is simplified and its toxicity is also reduced. ^ 2 cl, 3 ex |
