PURPOSE: A strain which produces cholesterol oxidase and a method for preparing cholesterol oxidase using the same are provided to ensure thermal stability by 50°C and to use in food and biomedical industries. CONSTITUTION: A Nocardia sp. NES 115(deposit number: KACC 91437P) is isolated from soil and produces cholesterol oxidase in a medium containing carbon source and nitrogen source. The carbon source in the mediuim is glucose, galactose, glycerol or raffinose. The nitrogen source is yeast extract, peptone or beef extract.
