摘要 PURPOSE: A flux for eliminating impurities from Al-Zn alloy melt and a method for eliminating impurities from Al-Zn alloy melt using the same are provided to effectively remove Fe element from Al-Zn alloy melt containing NaCl, KCl, and Na2B4O7. CONSTITUTION: A flux for eliminating impurities from Al-Zn alloy melt comprises a mixture of NaCl and KCl 60~75wt.% and Na2B4O7 25~40wt.%. Na2B4O7 is obtained by calcining Na2B4O5(OH)4·8H2O for at least 2 hour at a temperature of 600~800°C. The mixture of NaCl and KCl is obtained by mixing NaCl and KCl at the ratio of 1:1~1:1.5. A method for eliminating impurities from Al-Zn alloy melt using the flux comprises a step of melting aluminum or aluminum alloy scrap, a step of adding Zn to adjust the alloy components, and a step of putting the flux in the melt to remove impurities in the melt.
