发明名称 Improvements in and relating to key cases
摘要
657,615. Key-holders. BUXTON, Inc. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26397. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1946. [Class 44] In a flexible key case Fig. 1, comprising a back panel 4 and two flaps 5 provided with the usual fasteners 6, the keys being suspended from hangers 2 whose enlarged heads are engaged in slots in a tubular supporting member, the slots have enlarged escape openings which are normally blocked by having within the tubular member a resiliently mounted bar, one end of which has a finger grip extending outwardly from the end of the tube and is movable to unblock the openings. The hanger support, formed from a blank as in Fig. 2, consists of a plate portion 7 and bar 8 connected by spaced members 9 which define slots 10 having the escape openings 11. Blocking fingers 16 extending from the bar 8 are aligned with the escape openings 11, and finger grip forming portions 13, 14, are formed respectively on an extension 12 of the bar 8 and on the opposite side of the plate 7. The upper portion is rolled downwardly as in Fig. 5 so that the bar 8 lies against plate 7, the fingers 16 covering the openings 11 and the finger pieces 13, 14, are bent outwardly at right angles to the bar 8 and plate 7 respectively. On pressure being applied as by thumb and forefinger to the finger pieces 13, 14, the bar member and finger 16 are moved against the resilience of members 9 to uncover the openings 11 and allow insertion or removal of hangers 2 which have enlarged heads. When a hanger of the type described in Specification 657,664 is inserted into an opening 11, the plane surface of its head being against the finger 16 as in Fig. 8, an anticlockwise rotation will cam back the blocking finger 16 without using the finger pieces 13,14. The latter are always employed, however, for removal of the hanger. In a modification, the plate 7 is shortened and is attached to the key case by prongs provided on the plate. In a further modification, Fig. 16, the bar and blocking fingers are formed separately from the plate and slotted cylinder, the bar having an extension 28 bent at right angles thereto, provided with a hole through which passes a tongue 36 at right angles to, and formed from, the finger piece 35. A spring 40 housed on the tongue 36 normally maintains a tongue 30 on the bar against a tongue 37 on the cylinder. In another embodiment Fig. 18, the bar 8 is wider and no fingers 16 are provided. On pressing the finger grips 47, 48, an outwardly directed cam tongue 49 on the bar engages the adjacent end of the tube, an inwardly directed cam tongue 50 carried by the plate is engaged by the bar, and the bar is forced inwardly to uncover the escape openings. A key hanger is described in which a piece of spring wire has its ends forming a shank portion terminating in enlarged heads of hemispherical shape having the flat face adjacent the shank.
