<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly precise gesture recognition result. <P>SOLUTION: Detecting axes of a first and second one-dimensional sensors are arranged to be different with respect to a horizontal direction and a vertical direction of a predetermined linear gesture operation direction. A signal locus is formed by executing mapping on a phase plane, after normalized, as to signals from a first and second one-dimensional sensor means, and a correlation coefficient is found as to the signal locus. The positive/negative of correlation coefficient found from the signal locus corresponds to any of horizontal-directional and vertical-directional detected movements. The horizontal-directional movement is thereby discriminated from the vertical-directional movement, based on the positive/negative of correlation coefficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
