PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock-absorbing packaging material devised so as to be capable of demonstrating good shock-absorbing effect even at ridge parts and corner parts of an exterior box, and preventing any large dent or breakage in the ridge parts and corner parts of the exterior box. SOLUTION: The shock-absorbing packaging material includes a lower packaging material 2 having a storage recess 22 for inserting a lower part of an object to be packaged on an upper surface side of a body part 21, and an upper packaging material 1 having a storage recess 12 for inserting an upper part of the object on a lower surface side of a body part 11. Shock-absorbing projections 27 and 17 for side parts which are projected outwardly and abutted on an inner surface of an exterior box C are provided respectively on outer surfaces of sidewalls 25 and 15 surrounding the storage recesses 22 and 12 of the lower packaging material 2 and the upper packaging material 1. In the lower packaging material 2 and the upper packaging material 1, shock-absorbing projections 29 and 19 for ridge parts which are obliquely projected outwardly and abutted on or brought close to both inner surfaces for the ridge parts of the exterior box are provided on outer side surfaces of corner parts 28 and 18 of the sidewalls.
