<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate detecting an impact having a great effect to cause a damage or a trouble. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An impact sensor 24 is attached to the inside of a corner of a camera body. A conversion circuit 25 converts current output from the impact sensor 24 into voltage, amplifies and outputs it as output voltage. A decision circuit 26 determines whether the output voltage is equal to or above a predetermined threshold, and determines, when the output voltage is equal to or above the threshold, that drop of the camera body occurs and outputs a drop signal to a control circuit 29. When receiving the drop signal, the control circuit 29 records impact data including date information obtained from a calendar circuit 28 at this point, and output voltage information obtained from the decision circuit 26 time-sequentially into a memory 27.
