PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for measuring a screw shape which enable high-accuracy measurement of the screw shape by a simple constitution even when a measuring object is a screw or the like being long in the axial direction. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a light source 1 which radiates light in parallel with a spiral of the screw 10, a light receiving optical system 2 which has a reception optical axis being the same as that of the light source 1, a reflecting mirror 3 which is disposed in a route of the reception optical system 2 and scans in the direction of the tube axis of the screw 10, and an imaging device 5 which has a line sensor 5a detecting a one-dimensional image in the direction intersecting the tube axis of the screw 10 at right angles. The shape of the screw 10 is measured by composing the one-dimensional image obtained with scanning by the reflecting mirror 3 in the direction of the tube axis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
