PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an entrance safety device for an elevator, capable of enhancing operability when replacing a detector for detecting an obstacle. SOLUTION: The entrance safety device for the elevator includes a door stop post, arranged at the entrance of the elevator having a car door and landing door, having a detector for detecting the obstacle mounted in a manner capable of being attached from inside of the car cage or a landing side and a cover mounted on the door stop post from inside the car cage or the landing side for covering the detector. Hence, the cover can be detached from inside the car cage or the landing and the detector can be replaced from inside the car cage or the landing, enhancing the operability.
