PURPOSE: A light-emitting diode, a light-emitting device, a lighting apparatus, a display, and a signal light are provided to allow current to be surface-diffused on a semiconductor emitting layer. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor emitting layer(2) is laminated on the one side of a substrate(1). Electrodes(411-414) is comprised of conductor filled into micro grooves(511-514) and penetrate the substrate. The micro grooves are distributed by a certain areal density. The semiconductor emitting layer comprises an n-type semiconductor layer and a p-type semiconductor layer.
