<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which switches systems of conversion units while maintaining quality of communication service and a method of switching the device systems. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device (10) connects between communication networks (12, 14) which use different information forms each other, prepares M units of active system conversion units (30, 40) which convert an information form which is input from the communication network of one side to the information form of the communication network of another side, and N units of stand-by system conversion units (50), and connects to m circuits of active system communication circuits (18a, 20a) and n circuits of stand-by system communication circuits (18b, 20b) as connections between respective conversion units and communication circuits (18, 20). It has a control unit (100) which controls the communication devices so as to take synchronization of operation timing of a clock signal for the stand-by system conversion unit (50) while maintaining connection between active system conversion units (30) and the communication circuits (18), and to switch the systems of the stand-by system conversion units (50) and the active system conversion units (30) to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
