<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inflate a first chamber and a second chamber in order upon side collision by inflating a second airbag earlier than a first airbag, thereby extending an inflation area of the first airbag. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag device for side collision includes: a main airbag 18 whose inside is partitioned into a chamber 24 for waist protection and a chamber 25 for chest protection and a sub airbag 19 integrally joined to the main airbag 18. Upon side collision of a vehicle, the sub airbag 19 of the chamber 24 for waist protection and a chamber 25 for chest protection of the main airbag 18, and the sub airbag 19 is inflated earliest to push an occupant inward in the vehicle cross direction, thereby inflating the chamber 24 for waist protection and the chamber 25 for chest protection in order. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
