PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner that responds to a low temperature fixing system, shows good offset resistance and forms high quality images having good sharpness for a long period of time without contaminating a fixing device or images, and to provide a developer using the toner, a toner container, a process cartridge and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The toner contains at least a polyester resin as a binder resin, a colorant, a release agent and a fixing assistant component, wherein the fixing assistant component is a dibasic acid ester compound prepared by esterification of a divalent carboxylic acid and a monohydric aliphatic alcohol, the number of carbon atoms in the divalent carboxylic acid is≥2 and≤6, and the melting point of the dibasic acid ester compound is≥60°C and lower than 100°C.
