<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automatic transmission further reducible in the number of linear solenoid valves. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The control device for the automatic transmission includes a first shift valve 91 switchable into a first state of supplying an oil pressure of a first linear solenoid valve 81a to a first friction engaging element C1 or into a second state of supplying the oil pressure of the first linear solenoid valve 81a to a regulator valve 6 to regulate line oil pressure PL and to supply the line oil pressure PL to the first friction engaging element C1, and a second shift valve 92 switchable into a third state of supplying the oil pressure of a second linear solenoid valve 81b to a second friction engaging element C2 engaged simultaneously with the first friction engaging element C1 in a predetermined gear stage or into a fourth state of supplying the oil pressure of the second linear solenoid valve 81b to the regulator valve 6 to regulate the line oil pressure PL and to supply the line oil pressure PL to the second friction engaging element C2.
