<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod holder which can be brought into a holding state of surely holding a boring rod by constantly and completely closing a chuck member, and can meet requests for lightweight and miniaturization. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotation-side chuck member 41 is brought into a released state by rotating a rotating shaft 25. The rotating shaft 25 is axially slid, and a protrusive streak 31 is inserted through a protrusive streak insertion portion 23. The rotation of the rotating shaft 25 is regulated, and the rotation-side chuck member 41 is locked in a released state. A holder body 3 is provided in a state that its notch 7 faces a drilled hole. The rotating shaft 25 is axially slid, and the protrusive streak 31 is set in a position disengaged from the protrusive streak insertion portion 23. The regulation of the rotation of the rotating shaft 25 is released to be brought into an unlocked state. When the locked state is released, the rotating shaft 25 is rotated by an urging force of a spring 81, and the rotation-side chuck member 41 is brought into a holding state.
