<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus allowing a user to perform the work for maintenance with respect to a rear of this device effectively and efficiently in even a comparatively narrow installation place. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus with an operation unit in a front of a device body and a rear cover for covering at least part of the rear of the device body on the opposite side to the front has a holding means for holding the rear cover for the device body, an opening means for moving the rear cover upward from a closing position for covering at least part of the rear of the device body to an opening position for opening at least part of the inside of the device body and moving the rear cover downward from the opening position to the closing position, a stabilizing means for bringing the rear cover to a standstill at the opening position, and an electric component provided at a position on an inner side of the rear cover allowing the user to access it through a front side of the device body when the rear cover is at the opening position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
