PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus capable of fixing a wiring board without the need of enlargement of the frame size. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a liquid crystal display panel 2 having a display region 6 comprising a plurality of pixels PX, an illumination unit 15 for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel 2, and a wiring board 13 connected with one side rim of the liquid crystal display panel 2 so as to be bent to the back side of the illumination unit 15. The illumination unit 15 comprises a plurality of light emitting diodes 21 arranged by a predetermined interval, a light guide plate 22 having an incident surface facing light emitting surfaces 21E of the light emitting diodes 21 and a dent part 28 recessed from the incident surface facing the light emitting surfaces 21E of two light emitting diodes 21, and a frame 23 having a projection part 29 fit in the dent part 28 for supporting the light guide plate 22. The back surface of the projection part 29 and the back surface of the light guide plate 22 are on the same plane. The wiring board 13 is bonded to the projection part 29 via an adhesive member GL.
