<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required to update information for a slave held in an individual slave without changing a hardware configuration in a configuration in which a plurality of slaves are connected to a master in series. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the configuration in which the plurality of slaves are connected to the master in series ((A) reference), data of a slave 5 are transferred to a slave 4, and execution of data transfer/write from the slave 4 to the slave 5 and data transfer/write of a slave 3 to the slave 3 in parallel is repeated ((C) reference). When the data transfer/write of the slave 3 ends first, data transfer/write of the slave 5 and data transfer/write of a slave 1 are executed in parallel ((D) reference), and when the data transfer/write of the slave 5 ends first, data transfer/write of the slave 3 and data transfer/write of the slave 1 are executed in parallel ((E) reference).
