<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine singlet nozzle assembly design with both mechanical and weld fabrication on the same side of the nozzle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The invention include a nozzle assembly 100 for a turbine, and the nozzle assembly 100 includes an airfoil 102, inner and outer sidewalls 104 and 106, and inner and outer rings 108 and 110. Each of these sidewalls and rings are coupled together at an interface 101 through a combination of a mechanical interconnection on one end and a welded connection on the other end. The mechanical interconnection includes either the sidewalls or the rings having a protruding hook 130 and the other having a corresponding hook recess 132. The interconnection can also include axial and radial mechanical stops. The configuration may further include one or more surfaces at the interface 101 between the ring and the sidewall, and angled away from the interface 101 to form a narrow groove.
