PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for draining water from a plug insertion hole in an internal combustion engine including a first draining passage provided in a cylinder head for guiding water discharged from the plug insertion hole provided in the cylinder head or a fastened member fastened to the cylinder head, to the side of a cylinder block, and a second draining passage ranging from the first draining passage and provided on the side of the cylinder block in the state of being opened to the front or rear face of the cylinder block, while enabling to freely set a draining direction without being restricted by other members arranged on the cylinder block. SOLUTION: A passage portion 130 as part of the second draining passage 129 is formed by a groove 131 provided in a deck face 17b of the cylinder block 17 with one end communicated with the first draining passage 128, and the cylinder head 18 joined to the deck face 17b.
