<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus capable of achieving a high S/N ratio in a plurality of operational modes, and to provide a method of driving the same. <P>SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus has a plurality of pixels (1) each of which has a photoelectric converter that generates an electric charge by photoelectric conversion and stores the electric charge, and an amplifier (2) connected to the plurality of pixels to amplify the electric charge generated by the pixels.
